June // Nica Soccer

Goal: Provide Soccer Ball and T-Shirt to each participant for our 2 weeks of Nicaragua Soccer camps.

- Camp 1: Los Rios, Ticuantepe
- Camp 2: Esteli

The cost per soccer camp participant is $15 U.S. dollars.
June's goal is to raise $6.50 per mile.

In the spring of 2014 Pinas de Paz invited our family to organize a soccer camp for them. The camp has grown each summer from an initial 30 participants to over 450, and this last summer we expanded to a new location with another 700 participants (Este Li loves their soccer!). June found her niche in the soccer camps.  Though she is ready in a pinch to lead a drill, she prefers to serve around the edges.  She manages the water line. She reads to the siblings too young to participate, she sets up cones, organizes and distributes pinnies, and... you get the idea.

June's answer to what she wanted to raise money for:

I picked to raise money to buy the soccer balls and t-shirts for our 2019 Nicaragua trip. I picked this because it makes the children down there happy and excited that they get their own balls and shirts.

Each participant in our camps goes home with their own soccer ball and t-shirt. If you've done the math above, that's about 1,150 per year if the numbers hold.

If you would like to join June in providing soccer balls and t-shirts, the money will be collected by our home church Christ Community Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, FL.
