Are you ready Georgie?

I'm walking with Georgie for a two-hour walk in the Marshall Hampton Reserve. She is walking strong with a good attitude, so I think it might be a good time to ask,

Are you ready Georgie?

- I don't really know, I think it's kind of half and half.

How would you like your coffee?

- I don't want coffee!

You said half and half, so I wondered if you wanted coffee to go with that.

- I meant like half ready, half not.

Tell me about both halves.

- I'm ready to go because we've been talking about it for a really long time, and I'm not ready to go because of all the miles... and Knife's edge.

Is there any part of the trail in particular that you are interested in seeing?

- I want to see a Redwood tree, and I want to see snow because I have never seen it.

How about animals? Are there any animals you'd be interested to see?

- I want to see a mountain lion walking on the other ridge, a bear really far away, and I also want to see a snake, but see it before it sees us.

What kind of snake?

- Maybe a rattlesnake  I don't know. I don't know what other kind of snakes are out there.

Of all the places we've gone getting ready for this hike, which has been your favorite?

- I like the Withlacoochee State Park  but I didn't like the heat and... yeah

You like the Withlacoochee even better than Ocala National Forest?

- Ha ha ha.  the Ocala National Forest wasn't necessarily getting ready that was just a fun trip.

What makes something a fun trip or not a fun trip?

- if you do less miles and and you do it with other people, then it's a fun trip.

What's the most miles a day that you could do and have it still be a fun trip?

- Possibly 10 maybe 11.

What are the things that you are going to be sad to be leaving behind?

I'm going to miss my friends and my family, my bed, and our animals.

I am excited about spending all of this time with you Georgie.

- Thanks, we'll see how I feel.

I think you are ready.

Georgie is walking to raise money for Third Millennium Ministries, take a few minutes to look at the video  and find out more about it.
