Vince: I'd rather be preparing...

I read an article about thru-hiking recently (because reading is preparing right?) that said quit preparing and do the one thing you need to do.

I didn't like the article.

I like the preparing. I like laying on the couch and scrolling through the phone to find another gear review and re-reconsider which direction we should go for the final after the final decision on socks. I like preparing. I like laying on the couch and reading articles about how to approach re-supply strategies. I like preparing. I like laying on the couch and calculating the budget for resupply. I like preparing. I like laying on the couch and writing a blog update, or reviewing video or pictures we have taken. I like preparing. I like laying on the couch and scrolling through articles about the best methods for preparing for the physical rigors of the through hike.

I didn't like that one particular article enough that I couldn't tell you where I found it, but I can tell you that it said to forget everything else you think you need to do to prepare, and walk. Walk till your feet are ready. Walk till your legs are ready. Walk till you are ready.

So... reluctantly we are off the couch, walking in the mornings for a couple hours till June. In june we will walk in the mornings and evenings, or a long one, and with weight. So we are walking daily. The goats make it better.  Friends make it better, so if you are bored...

We did take the cameras and see some pretty amazing things at Marshall Hampton Reserve though... so there is that...
